Forums - General - Obama said something I agree with.

He wants a vote now on heath care. He said everything there is to say has been said. It's time to vote.

I agree. I also hope this means that even when they try reconciliation, and it does not pass, that he and everyone else will shut up about it.

I have a feeling it will be "Oh you voted wrong, try again" if it doesn't pass.

Yea. I think this is why you don't hear about reconciliation from congress. They know right now they can't even get a 51 vote on the bill. Obama is pushing for something that they can't deliver on.

I think that's good. Once it's fails to pass, it should wake up the white house, and let them know if they don't take a road a little more to the middle, they won't get anything done.

I wish they would start actually passing something that matters. Do they ever pass anything at all anymore?

No. And that's what will change.

Obama has said everyone agrees on 80% of the bill, and they are just fighting over the other 20%... well, pass the 80% then.

The Democrats in office at the moment don't think they need to compromise. They will learn that just like with the Republicans controlled everything, you need to be a lot more in the middle, or nothing will get done.

What is passed can always be repealed. I'm sure the republicans will make big gains this election.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Two house systems of government are far too easily paralyzed, especially when they both have so much power. Your system of government simply doesn't function as it should in my opinion.

Obama pushing his Socialism onto America. Enough with this Metrosexual Socialist President. Shame he is still in power for three more years.

The Republican dominated Senate should block all his Socialist policies.

If health care somehow passes, then many Democrats in Congress (especially Harry Reid) are finished on November 2, 2010.

If health care doesn't pass, then that means that freedom has prevailed, and several Dems will probably still take a hit in November.

Either way, there will be something to cheer about. :)

Have you been enslaved?

The few times I have been able to on on our president have both been lesser of two evils, so I did not even bother. Looking back that seems to be how it always is.
