Um hell yeah. I posted my very own article about the Unreal Engine Effect about 5 days ago. Funny how previews of Alan Wake start coming and they basically say what I said. In fact for years I have said the 360 could easily do anything the PS3 can if it had specially designed engines.

You agree that there is nothing on the 360 right now that can compete with the PS3 games until Alan Wake comes, right?

There's only one issue.

Personally, like some reviewers to. Mass Effect 2 was at the front. Or at least on par with PS3. Maybe not technically speaking, but however Bioware achieved it they made it look the best. But Wake looks another level. Hell they use Crysis in the comparison. It's now a case of U2, KZ2 Crysis competeing with AW. Something tells me Alan Wake will get the graphics of the Year awards this year.

God of War is going to score that award... Alan Wake is to wide... there is to much physics going on for it to compete with a heavily scripted and very narrow God of War 3.... if it does do that though I'll be astonished... personally for me this is more along the lines of something to compare to Uncharted 2 on a technical level... if they can reach or beat UC2 they'll probably have a good chance of reaching the short list for GotY

Where is no game thats as wide as god of war 3.

pulling a camera out like that isn't what I ment...  God of War is a very focused game

You know what would be awesome? If Alan Wake, Uncharted 2, God of War and Crysis all got together and had a big gang bang which resulted in an iligitimate conjoined twin. And one of the twins ate the other and all we had left was one awesome mutliplat full of sexy video game orgy win.

PS3 Trophies

as good as AW looks since GoW III dropped it's resolution and polished up a bit it looks better, But nither will win best graphics Crysis 2 will you know the better looking sequel to the 3 year old best looking game (with mods) that will at least on PC and possibly on consoles take the top spots technically (I doubt it will for art style)

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

hmm... that preview gives me the impression it's a shooter and not the subtile horror game I hoped for ..

You do realize MS and Sony both released new Dev Kits which unlocked more RAM for each console. Not sure how long ago, but pretty recently. This probably had somewhat of the effect to unlock new potential especially in the 360 which I believe jumped to a gig of RAM. Don't quote me and it's late otherwise I'd find a source.

This game truly does look very good and makes me wish I had a 360.

^ lol, no, the 360 has 522MB (512MB shared between gpu/cpu + 10MB embedded ram in the gpu) total physical ram - you unlock "new" ram by making the OS smaller, so that more of the 522MB can be used for games. They can't double the ram like that, lol.

Where you here last week? Because we were talking about a small game that looks destroyed Uncharted 2 in visuals, just killed it. I hope Alan can beat 2009 best, but we are in 2010 now, there are new games to deal with, check out march 16th.

Gamersyde have previewed GOW3. They didnt mention GOW3 alongside U2, KZ2 and Crysis. So obviously they dont think it's in that league overall.

Really, go check out what IGN said.

Either way, Alan Wake will deliver, I just don't see it topping God of War III in reviews for visuals.

I guess we will see. ;)GOW3 is also smaller in scale. levels are smaller for a start, not as hugely open. Of course I havent played it to say for sure, but if my copies of GOW1 and 2 and general hacknslash gaming has showed me, this genre will always be that way.

You need to play NIER when it comes out then. Big open world :)

why do you only post such flameish threads ?
is that all you do in your time ? =s

it is a shooter

Alan Wake is more an Uncharted 2 in the wod than a Silent Hill game

but, they may have succeed to create a thrilling story/settings with a TPS classic gameplay
