Unfortunately, it still is
I'm against gay marriage just because I think homosexuality basically goes against nature. Two guys/girls can be together for all I care but marriage is between a man and a woman.

Fuck I can't really think of any response that doesn't make me sound like a homophobic idiot. I'm all for equal rights for all races/sexual preference/whatever I just don't like the idea of gay marriage (yeah I know I just went agains my own beliefs). Marriage, in my opinion, is so a man and woman who love each other can be together and have kids/raise a family and the kids can carry on the family name. And that can't happen in a same sex marriage; they can be together and love each other but its missing the whole idea of procreation.
I know there's adoption and whatever but that doesn't always work out - a lot of people think sexual preference was something you're born with and not something you're taught/learn; so if the kid isn't destined to become homosexual then it isn't fair to the kid to have two homosexual parents. Lets look at it this way; I'm straight and my life is just fine. But If I had been raised by two dads my life would suck! I'd be ridiculed in school and I probably wouldn't have many (if any) friends because it would be very hard to find friends who are accepting.

i understand where u coming from
and YES areligious ceremony should be only for man and woman
but a civil ceremony should be for everyone no matter sex color or race
and as for having/adopting children is a different story (i dont want to have children thou) but thats still should be YOUR/MINE decision not the government
and btw it amaze me how u assume ur life woulf have SUCKED if u had 2 HOMOSEXUAL as parents
so i guess having NORMAL parents your life is guaranteed to be awesome

Stop this silliness about adoption right now.
My brother is adopted and I can tell you being in a loving family is far better then being in an institution.
Being in a family where you have two gay parents may have its social stigmas but I can tell you (having been to the orphanage when we picked up my brother) and seeing the results from his maltreatment there, it would a lot better to have some social stigmas outside of the institution then to still be in it.
The sooner a child gets out of the institution the better. My brother and the many adopted children I know (I've met about 50 or so) were worse off the longer they stayed in the orphanages.
So if getting someone out out a few years earlier means they need to be in a gay family, so be it.

Haha no 2 "normal" parents is certainly no guarantee of an awesome life.
@ Farmland - I'm not saying homosexuals can't be loving parents or anything like that, all I was getting at is it would certainly make life harder on the child once he gets to middle school and high school. Kids in high school are not nice, and when they find out he has gay parents he'll be bullied big time.
