What is the difference between MHFU and MH3?

Around the Network

Freedom Unite = much, much upgraded Monster Hunter 2

Tri = Monster Hunter 3

...Tri also has better controls (analog camera!), online play (all the PSP games are ad-hoc only), underwater hunts, a more approachable learning curve and looks a whole lot better imo. MHFU does have quite a bit more content though, and it's portable and you can play locally (Tri only has a nerfed "Coliseum mode" for local play). The games are actually entirely different in terms of content (almost no repeated monsters/weapons/armor/etc), so playing through both is probably worth your while.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering, Monster Hunter Frontier (PC/360) is also based on MH2.

what jarrod said, also note that both of them take some time to get used to. but once you get into them you're going to be addicted.

I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

I have logged about 300 hrs on MHFU so you guys are saying that MH3 is easier? The fact that it has an analog camera makes it so much easier than MHFU. I have died many times due to that damn camera.
