Its been a few weeks since IGN posted rumors of the Wii version of Animal Crossing being an MMO focused game. The style of the game fits perfectly with the MMO format and if made well could work very well. This is still very much a rumour however, and in my opinion although it would be awesome due to Nintendo's frustratingly strict view on online socialising I cant see it happening.

I think it will have some interesting use of WiiConnect24, but not be a full-fledged MMO.

There could be a worldwide trading post for player-created buildings and furniture...
There could be a junior mode where you live as a resident in a friend's town...
Maybe they could even let 2-5 players build a single town together--stored on everyone's Wii, with updates uploaded to everyone's Wii every time someone plays.

But a full-fledged MMO, with, like, strangers talking to each other? Don't see it happening.

it would be good if true,and there were also some rumors saying that if a mmo ac was made it wouldnt release outside of japan
