Good amount of people still play. I guarantee this update will bring FFXI players back in the masses.

This sounds insane. Sounds like they are just completely blowing up the game, pretty much making all current content null and void. I hope it works out for the best but maaaaaannnnn what a risky move.

I been playing FF11 since 2004. I really don't know what to say about this.
I might as well toss my Ares, Joyeuse etc etc for the higher level stuffs.

However;

This can cause a lot of people to quit, or stay.
I think Square Enix just want people to pay for both games. FF11 and FF14

LOL yea thats me, I remember ur name as well. I can just imagine the shitstorm the lvl cap increase is causing amongst all the dynamis/limbus/einherjar ppl. Sucks big time if all that equip is just gonna become garbage.

They will either add new equipment within dynamis/limbus/einherjar/etc or thats what the whole weapon enchament thing is for. To 'level-up' those armors and weapons so they do not suck at the higher lvl. Although I do imagine them adding a shit ton more equips for this.
