Forums - Gaming - Question about Toys R Us' game trade-in program

I've thought Toys R Us' trade-in program was always a cool idea. They have a website where you can check the value on any game you want to trade-in. You can mail them or bring them to a store. It's really well set up.

A few weeks ago I was in TRU to buy Bioshock 2, when I noticed something odd. Toys R Us wasn't selling used games. I asked the sales clerk and he says they only purchase used games from customers. They don't sell them.

They don't sell them in store where I am. They don't sell them online. This reminds me of the underpants gnome joke from South Park.

Stage 1: Buy used games
Stage 2: ???????????????
Stage 3: Profit!

Does anyone know what Toys R Us does with these games?

Making a robot? Really that is odd...

Former something....

i think they are just saving them up for a big launch or sumthing, i mean, really, what else could it be?

Probably sell it to stores that sell used games.

They've been doing this for months and months though. I think they started last March. That's a long time to be stockpiling games.
