So if I start sucking dick, say I hate God and go liberal my IQ will go up?

There was nothing about homosexuality leading to a higher IQ. Also, there wasn't a rule saying that if you are liberal, atheist and sexually exclusive your IQ would be affected. It was to do with the correlation between behaviour and IQ. A conservative can still be more intelligent than a liberal.

Oh, and atheists don't hate God, it's like hating Santa Claus for them.

I'd very much disagree with that.  The most prominent atheists very much DO hate god.  Or at the very least the idea of god.

I would disagree with that. They don't hate god (obviously, because that's just silly), nor the idea of god, so much as what people do in the name of "God". I mean take richard dawkins, about as prominent as an atheist as you can get. He thinks the idea of god is silly, but he doesn't "hate" the idea. He hates what people try to do to the education system, or what people do politically, to try and force their world views and ignorance on others. His objection isn't to the idea of god, it's to people trying to make public education forego teaching the best science and knowledge we have available to appease people's superstitious world views, or try to take political action to deny civil rights to people (gays) based on thousands of year old texts that have nothing to do with modern day. If somebody wants to believe in god in the comfort of their own home fine, it's when they try make everybody else do the same that he takes objection.

Atheists don't hate God, atheists tend to just dislike the idea of a God.

To be honest an atheist saying they hate God makes no sense. Because to say they hate God, they would have to acknowledge God exists. Where as if they say they hate the idea of God, they don't have to acknowledge God exists.

I very much like the idea of God, just like i very much like the idea of Santa Claus.

Just because I find the idea of a God to be ridiculous, does not mean I don't wish it was true.

LOL, Mafoo who hates big government likes the idea of a big man in the sky who watches your every move, imposes massive regulations on all of humanity, can punish anyone anywhere at anytime for any reason, and is not bound by any laws including his own. The hilarious irony.

That was kind of a jerk thing to say. I mean, talk about taking a cheap shot at Mafoo. And I think one of the big reasons that Mafoo doesn't like big government is because he feels that other parties can do a lot of what the government does better (such as charity being able to handle the welfare of poor people better). Assuming that there is a God, and he is all-knowing and perfect, I trust him on everything. I can't say the same for my government.

But if that was your idea of a joke, you should write for Leno.

That's not a cheap shot, mafoo knows I love him. I've told him on multiple occasions. I've got nothing but love for the guy, it's just a funny irony that he's against big government but is for the biggest possible government. Lighten up a bit, I've got nothin but love for you too, Montana.

Well I don't think this study was actually necessary as it only makes sense. People who question are more likely to investigate. To do that you have to gain knowledge. People who are less likely to question the norm, aren't going to do that and obviously won't be as educated in the "university" sense.

But as someone said, IQ doesn't mean you are smart or not. It just means that you know a lot of stuff, that is well probably useless anyways. Trust me, I'm the keeper of a lot of useless knowledge. As Rousseau argued (another one of my useless knowledge banks), the every day worker who supports his family and lives an honest life is smart in his own right. Not everyone needs or should know everything, or pretend to know everything.

But I identify myself as an atheist (sort of), a liberal (in the old sense which I'm assuming they are meaning here as they are stating it in a way that protects the right for many), and I'm not sure what "male sexual exclusivity" is but oh well.

Well, I am just one guy. But I will state my information:

IQ: 165 (when tested at age 14, not that it really means anything)
Religion: Atheist
Political Party: Libertarian
Sex drive: strong

I like the line "Liberals are more likely to be concerned about total strangers; conservatives are likely to be concerned with people they associate with"

I would add that Libertarian's are more likely to be concerned about everyone. It's why we want all liberties for all people, and not just the sub group of liberties for the subgroup of people we care about.

Well it's odd because they are using liberal in the old sense here, I think.  Liberalism in its purest definition is the same definition as current day libertarianism.  Actually, most self-proclaimed liberals nowadays, still pretty much fit the definition on most social issues while obviously not the same for conservatives which is why the social issues are one of the main splits between them.  However monetary issues are starting to become pretty strong now too.

:)

I didn't take it as a cheep shot, but thanks for sticking up for me Montana.

The idea that we are here for a purpose, and that when we die we go to a much better place sounds great to me. Also, the Christian/Jewish God gave us free will, government does not ;)

The issues you have with "god" has more to do with what people say god wants. The Bible itself says no one can judge if I get into heaven. Only god makes that call. So all these things you MUST follow are just best guesses.

So, it's posable that if the Christen God existed, that I could live my life the exact same way that i do, and go to heaven after I die.

So, yea, that's something I would like to be true. To bad the only reason there is religion, is because I am not alone in wanting that fantasy to be reality :)

Whoo! I always knew I was special!

Unless they have changed IQ tests, it's not based on what you know.

The one I took was a collection of shapes and patterns, and I had to guess the next one that fits (at least that's the part I remember the most). I don't remember it all, as it was 26 years ago that I took it.

I was 14, so how much could I have known?
