So I manage a local pizza shop in a small town in southern california. Two years ago the owner and I went out and got a bunch of new arcade games (we have about 12 total I believe) and they are getting a little worn and dated already so we want to make some changes. Our thoughts though are to maybe get some ps3's, 360's, wii's, and/or pc's and connect them to some big screens (probably 40-50 inch) instead of arcade games. The main reasoning beind this is the high cost of even used arcade games (1,500-3,000) and they are far harder for me or him to fix. I have a good track record with 360's and pc's.
Some backround on our customers: We definatly aim for the family audience. Kids, baseball teams, soccer, birthday parties etc. So to that end we will not be able to do games that are too mature, and may have to limit some of the online capabilites of the ps3 360 and pc's. We do serve alchohol, but there is another pizza place in town and they are more the bar crowd, we are more the family with the dad who wants some beer with dinner. Not a place for drunks. We dont really do redemtion gaming (where you get a prize or tickets to turn in for a prize). We also cater mostly to the middle class, we try to make sure to keep our prices low so everyone can afford to have a good time.
So the questions: What would you guys get to set all of this up? What systems, how many games? what games? What kind of pricing would you guys do? By the half hour? every fifteen min? How much would you charge? How would you guys stop people from taking the controllers, or breaking the systems? Any case or kiosk Ideas?
Well thats all I could think of for now. I do have a few ideas on how I would do it but I will post those later so you guys can have fresh and new thoughts not tainted by my ideas:)
