Battlefield Bad Company 2 US TV Spot

I have to say that the song fits absolutely perfectly for the trailer. Makes me want to play it super bad.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

Remind yourselves that the "hardcore" gamers have already most likely seen the Battlefield trailer that are on the net. Remind yourselves that that the Battlefield Episodes are minutes long, and that commercials need to be SHORT and ATTENTION GETTING.

I think that this is a good commercial in those two terms. I'm a bit uneasy about newbies joining, but we can't act like fucking Socrates and wish that we could live in a world with only skilled or smart gamers, and especially think that EA can.

They actually should put more effort into bringing the newbies in...

The majority of the hardcore BF fans are probably still gaming on their PC's. Console gamers still arn't really familiar with the BF series and BC1 didn't really get mass attention.

BC2 is still in competition in MW2 so need to find ways to market it to the masses - I love the demo and I'd hate for the game's lifespan to be short due to the userbase being too small.

Bringing in tons of beginners can only be a good thing. If you're really that worried about them, you should be getting BC2 for PC then prepare for the rape....

From the impressions I've been reading in the Bad Company 2 forum, the PC beta has their share of n00b hill campers.

Rightfully challenges Modern Warfare?

No need to challenge, I thought the 1st game was better than MW1.

Unfortunately it will not challenge the sales which is a great shame.

The quotes are the eye-catchers and could still purvey the strong points. How does this sound?!

"The destructable environments make a session never the same" - Gamespot, 5.5

"Drivable Tanks, heli's, quads.. it's total chaos!" Edge - 9/10

"Singe-player is hilarious [...] multiplayer forever playable" IGN - 8.9

Etc. Already sounds better.

Cannot wait for this game. I love the quote, "Rightfully challenges Modern Warfare."
In my opinion, it rightfully kicks Modern Warfare's ass.
Let's just wait until March though... :)

To be honest, I still think that's too long for the average person. They'll not focus on the 9.5 and 5/5, which is what EA wants.

And the average consumer isn't going to care about tanks (since they ditch them at crate B and give it to the defenders), destructible environments (since they never try to blow down crate A with Destruction 2.0), and both me and the average consumer, give little shit about the singleplayer of Battlefield XD

I said this in another thread, I'll restate it here:

I think the trailer is weak. It is intense sure, but it doesn't hit on any of the strong points. No mentioning of the destructable environment, the "do as you please" angle of the multiplayer, the humor of the single player and the chaos that ensues everywhere. If my PC wasn't so damn old I'd be all over BFBC2 in a heartbeat, it's miles better then MW2 in my opinion and the trailer doesn't show it. It mostly caters to the crowd that already knows the game. Joe shmoe thinks: I've got MW2, why should I buy this rip-off?

I believe it shows off the vehicle combat really well.  That seperates it from MW2 by miles alone.

It shows that vehicles are fighting. But if you take the perspective of someone who doesn't know the game or series, would you know? I could select a few shots from MW1/2 where you are firing from a helicopter, hanging on a diver, watch tanks and LAV's role past and shooting from a hummvee...

The commercial really didn't show the "use anything at your disposal" possibility battlefield has.
