Forums - Microsoft Discussion - RUMOR: Natal going to be really expensive!

New rumors in an interview with xbox360france claims that Microsofts Natal will cost 100-200 euros ($130-$270)

The examiner article is poorly written, but one thing i noticed was the manufacturing cost of $50. And patchers prediction of retail price at $50. Seems a bit off.

I hope you are wrong. Natal is supposed to be priced at an affordable price to help 360 console sales push through the roof and outsell the PS3 in sales. Outselling the PS3 is Microsoft's main objective this generation in regards to the 360. We all know you have failed if your console system finishes in last place. Microsoft had Sony in their sights and are doing whatever it takes for the 360 to outsell the PS3.

If Natal is expensive it will just be another failure of an add on and join the HD DVD and all those Sega add ons as epic failures. If Microsoft finishes last place that will be it. No third XBox console. Outselling Sony means everything to Microsoft.

I wouldn't say that.  But yeah, priced above the Wii, no one will buy it.  Hopefully MS will be smart with its add-on pricing this time around. HDD, Wi-Fi pricing are examples what not to do.

So many conjectures is simply exhausting. Natal's price point is to be determidned later on. Nobody, even at MS, can estimate the retail price until at least July when the demand and the supply of of Natal games will be somewhat known.

Really people, we've had two consoles this gen which were sold half what they cost. And a third one which was sold with immediate returns. Considering Natal is anoher a "razor 4 blades" platform let's wait.

It was actually the JOURNALISTS that were guessing that price range, not the MS rep.

Natal price point not yet announced

Despite persistent nagging, Xbox representatives were also tight-lipped about the expected retail price of Natal last night, inevitably leaving journalists to speculate wildly: the general consensus was that the add-on might cost anywhere from €100 to €200, but that’s just an educated guess.

Let me start a rumor, Natal is going to the Wii and PS3 after the timed exclusive deal runs out and developer DICE will use it to create a good battlefield game.

Start spreading it around.

Oh yes, of cours! It will cost 2000$.
In a half year 1 $ is like 10 cents today ;P

Is a network adapter intended to be a hard- or softwareseller? That was7 is ony an addition - Natal will be more then a simple hardwareaddition.
