Anyway, my top ten (2000-2009) would probably be... original releases only (no remakes/ports, sorry GBA/DS/PSP)...

4. [PS2] Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (Square Enix / Level 5)
5. [PC] Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim (Falcom)
6. [GC] Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (Nintendo / Intelligent Systems)
7. [DS] Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard (Atlus)
8. [PS2] Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (Atlus)
9. [DC] Skies of Arcadia (Sega / Overworks)
10. [PS2] Final Fantasy XII (Square Enix)

...man, that was tough.  Also, SRPGs have kinda sucked this decade compared to last imo (Tactics Ogre > all). Ditto for action RPGs (where'd they all go?). :/

Lists like this are always going to favor popular opinion over what is truly the good game.  Now, I'm not going to say any perticular Dragon Quest game is 'etter' than all those games on the list....but that is my opinion.

I'd also like to state that there's some other great RPGs that are going to be overlooked due to graphics, lack of popularity or not having come out recently.  Stuff like Suikoden III,  Baulders Gate 2, Heck, even the original Paper Mario which is still one of my favorite RPGs easy.

And screw it, any RPG list in the last 10 years has to have Dragon Quest VIII in it.

well people around the world has different tasted when it comes to RPG but surely one of the RPG's on the list will rise as TOP game of the YEAR!

Tales Of Symphonia definately should have been on that list!
