Forums - Sony - R.I.P launch 60gig

Was playing dragon age . fans kicked into ultra turbo mode followed by a triple beep and then the red flashing light :( waited a bit did it 3 more times after about 5 mins, took it apart and the CBE looked like it had been getting pretty hot.  I dont have a heat gun or the stomach to bake my Mobo so I just put it back together and now no lights or power of any kind. Very odd.

Im going to see if future shop will give me a slim for it, I dont think I want them to repair it or give me a refurb at this point.

you just lost the best ps3 ever made, I will shed some tears for you bro

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

If there's no power or anything, perhaps you didn't reconnect the power supply and/or the wires for the touch buttons.

Ke$ha says Tik Tok. Unfortunately no early HD system is safe from failure. Close to 100% failure is expected, so I suggest you move up to a Slim when they become available.

lol I spent over an hour messing around with it took it apart and reassembled 3 times. took voltage tester to power supply and mobo.
Theres only 1 harness for the PSU and im sure I got that, when I turn the swich on the back on I can hear a slight buzzing from the PSU and ive checked the swich harness a few times.

Maybe ill post some pics later.

Rofl Whut?!

Cool down for a week?????

Its by itself on my entertainment bench hooked up to my wall mounted TV, Could you give me an example of a better location?

If I get Sony to repair it for $179 they will give me a 90 day warranty, on a refurb unit.

If I can convince future shop to let me leave with a 120Gig slim ill have a 1 year warranty on a new unit.
