Forums - Gaming - FFXIII on xbox 360 install requires 18,3Gb!

I've never seen the point of installing. I installed Fallout 3 and didn't notice any difference in load times at all, but I did notice that I wasted like 8 minutes copying all the files over. I installed Naruto: The Broken Bond and got the same result, but now the game would freeze up on sometimes in the team multiplayer load screen.

You get marginal/unnoticeable changes in load times, you lose HDD space, and despite the idea that it reduces RROD, you're still using all of the graphics and cpu, which are the things that overheat and used to cause RROD. The only positive is that the system is quieter, but that's only an issue if you play your games on mute or super low volume.

^^^Wear and tear on the disc drive. And some games (Resident Evil 4, Onechanbara, Street Fighter 4, Bayonetta) go from having a 5-20 load time to a zero-5 second load time. And Mass Effect/Gears of War 2's slowly loading textures load almost instantly. Plus my already quiet "Jasper" 360 runs even quieter than my Wii/PS3 with an installed game.

Try installing Oblivion or Mass Effect after playing them without it. It is a noticable difference in load times, hell I used to have a book next to me when I was playing ME to read a page or so during load times. Thanks elite!

4 :P, I have the RE5 Elite

OT: Why should this even matter? Some PS3 game installs are required while X360 is optional...

I will install, like I did with LO and SO4... obviously I deleted SO4 before much of that was explored.

Installing on the 360 is so quick its silly not to.

Really? I find that installing on my 360 takes alot more time than PS3 installing. But I would rather do that then listen to the ridiculous noise it creates.

The install pros probably beat the cons by a long shot. 2 bad for the 20gig users xD

OT:I do really hate the non optional installs of the ps3, sometimes i just want to put in a game and play XD

Red 360 ftw :) If i can ever get a nice deal on one here, I`ll probably buy it :P xD Fat chance right now xD
