I've never seen the point of installing. I installed Fallout 3 and didn't notice any difference in load times at all, but I did notice that I wasted like 8 minutes copying all the files over. I installed Naruto: The Broken Bond and got the same result, but now the game would freeze up on sometimes in the team multiplayer load screen.
You get marginal/unnoticeable changes in load times, you lose HDD space, and despite the idea that it reduces RROD, you're still using all of the graphics and cpu, which are the things that overheat and used to cause RROD. The only positive is that the system is quieter, but that's only an issue if you play your games on mute or super low volume.
