There definitely are shortages in U.S. (at least where I live).

Now this is a reasonable comment.

He defines that the shortages are with no doubt affecting the U.S and specifically in his town. This is how you should post the situation.

 

Many users here make worldwide statements based on their usual shops, and that's wrong.

Sony and retailers are just running out of them.

It's not really Sony's fault. They have sold over 8 million units in the last 6 months. That's the greatest period the PS3 ever had.

It's hard to keep a system selling high numbers, when you just can't manufacture them fast enough. Plus they have to think about quality.



Like someone said earlier, sony maybe holding stock for the release for these March Games (GOW 3, FF 13) that should sell well.

That would not really be a good idea. I would be shipping out as many as I could in the lead up, but I'm sure Sony has likely ramped up manufacturing over the last month due to the continued strong demand from the post holiday season.
