Forums - Sony Discussion - Should I use turtle wax on the PS3

My PS3 has some scratches on it and i really missed the amazing shine it had when i first unboxed it.

I found this tutorial and it seems to be working for many people- http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?t=299098

do you guys think this is safe and i should do this? I already ordered the turtle wax

you might as well..you bought the wax! and it seems like it works..I would try alittle dab at 1st though

Wow interesting pictures, even though my ps3 is in mostly new shape, there are a few regular use scratches i got over time I could try to fill in slightly.

Let us know how it goes if you try the wax, it probably can't hurt it if you follow that guide.

yeah im thinking about making a youtube vid when i do it. Im just trying to make sure it wont harm the PS3 in any way like the blu ray drive or something.

I'd use T-Cut. Same thing I use to get scratches out of CDs.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

Why would you order Turtle Wax? You know you can buy that almost anywhere right?

And if you're in some crazy country that doesn't have a place that sells Turtle Wax at every corner, then waxing your console is stupid.  No, you should not wax your PS3.

I ordered it because it was not very expensive ($5). So decided to just order and i got free 2 day shipping.

wow........just wow

i just applied a little bit of turtle wax on my ps3. i didnt do the whole thing but if this works ill make vid of it and post it on youtube!

This thread made me wonder whether the Swiss use marmot oil for that purpose...
