Computers and video games are two things i love in this world. My parents just like all parents want me to beome a doctor of some sort. That will take like 8 years!!!  Can someone tell me how much video game programmers make? and how much education they need? Also is it hard? What classes should i be good at?

MATH MATH MATH

when you have math you can do whatever you want

PS : do what you LIKE  AND NOT what seems "good to be"

I just made 9 years for a job that doesnt fit me (researcher in bio) and I believe that I will do another one, less "high scholar skilled" but that fit me a lot more (teacher in bio) ...

Time to Work !

Depends on how high up they are in the company probably

At the end, youll always earn a lot of money if your qualify and like what your doing. I would greatly encourage you to go where you wanna go. The cash will come by itself after that, dont worry. You can enter a small business as a programmer, and then become lead programmer when the small business willl become a medium one, and then become a project supervisor ect ect. Its really you that decide, if you wanna beat everyone else at what your doing then you can and youll get promotion. I hope you parents does realize that you can make more money and live better if you choose the business that you like and that your qualify for.

I have a personal example on the subject: My girlfriend is studying medicine in university at the moment. But she will probably not earn more than me, even if I have half the scholarship. Still, she doesnt study medecine for cash but because shes a very good person. If you would study medecine for cash, then forget about it, its the least worthy profession to do for cash. Instead do what fit with your skill, liking and aptitudes and MAKE.BELIEVE. lol

are you talking about a programmer or designer. very different things.

if you're talking about being a programmer, well i dunno bout the salary but you're thinking about a job in computer/software engineering and you better enjoy math... well how old are you?...because its not so much math as calculus and differential equations and well obviously computer programming.

anyway, if it's what you like. go for it. but it's definetly not easy ... btw in canada engineering is 4 yrs, dunno bout where you live

sry. just noticed you posted again.. um well i'm talking with very limited computer programming knowledge (one course lol) but you'd be best starting off with java or c++ but i'd wait around for a better answer

well first MATH..Math..Math cannot be more important.

but what part of the game design would you like 3d art?, sound?the pre production or post production end?

it's has quite a bit interm's of job's that make it what it is.

the part's are what make's the whole.

so if you want to get into 3rd art

I would start here. the great thing is you can start this right now if you want.

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

well im taking algebra 2 next year. Math is my favorite subject but I dont really get my best grades in it. In geometry PreAP i scored 86 in the 1st semester, and 81 in the second semester. It could be just the teacher too because i actually got one of the highest grades in my class.
