I've been keeping an eye on this for some time now. It's great to see a Marvelous Entertainment game finally hit the Xbox 360. I have it on my rental queue but I'm currently in the middle of a couple rentals (and ace attorney investigations) and I'll probably rent FF13 next. It's in my "I'll get to it eventually, hopefully" wishlist.

wtf? a survival horror game on 360 I have not heard about?

I want to know more. Zombies? Demons from hell? Fixed camera? Is a little girl involved?

Not far enough to know, but I would say demons from hell. Non-fixed camera, over the shoulder ala Resident Evil 4.

So far, this is what I gather from the game:

  • Story is really odd and abstract. You start the game in the freakiest of locations
  • Weapons are pretty varied...My fiancee is about 30 minutes in and has like 3-4 weapons. Melee weapons degrade at a frenetic pace (iron clubs last 4-5 hits on an enemy, but they do kill an enemy in one hit).
  • You get money in the game to buy new weapons/health/ect
  • You must eat and sleep to stay alive
  • Has an open world, Alan Wake-esque area to it with a freeroaming driving component
  • Graphics are early X360-comparable...Dead Rising or in that area. Not PS2, but certainly not anything close to new. Good character models, bad animations.
  • Very scary music and SFX. Enemies have that 'The Ring/Grudge' type of freaky walking capability. They skip frames on the screen to get closer to you a lot quicker than normal. However, so far, most enemies are incredibly easy to dispatch.

Again, for what she has played, $20 is a great deal for the game. Its not a AAA horror game by any stretch of the imagination, but if your looking for survival horror and need a fix pre-Alan Wake...This one has seemed to be pretty decent.

Thanks. Buying this for sure. I am looking to buy somethig used to keep me busy after i finish Alien vs predator and before nighty nine nights 2 comes out...this will fill that void great.

Sometimes the unpredictable "bad" games are much more fun than pretidcable good games. I sense this is the case we have here...

Yeah, its kind of like the 'Earth Defense Force' of survival horror.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

haha. That is what I thought as soon as he said that :D

Got a little bit further. The game is growing on me. It's certainly not for choosy people as its a cheap rip-off of other games like Resident Evil, Dead Rising, and (presumably) Alan Wake, but so far, its pretty cool.

Firing controls are pretty crappy, ala Dead Rising (for guns, you press and hold RT, L stick to look around, and A to fire), but otherwise...Not too bad.

Completed the first chapter and got 50 achievement points. At a minimum, the game looks to have really, really easy achievements.

Oh, and on a side note, you get multiple clothing options in the game....Again, like Dead Rising.

For the price, I'd say its a solid 8/10.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

The achievements aren't all that easy. They're not all story-related. The story-related achievements make up 400 G from what I read online (50G for each part you pass) ,easy clear 100G, normal clear 150G, hard clear 200G and collectables achievement 150G. The list is on the Xbox360 achievements forum I believe.

If the difficulty achievements are stackable (and I manage to not suck at the game) and the collectables aren't a pain in the ass, I might try for 1k when I rent this. I hate collectables achievements and ones that require multiple run-throughs (since after going through a game once, I generally don't want to go through it all again unless it's short).

Anyone know where the gas station is in the game? My fiancee ran out of gas.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

The indoor environments look more like a 2005 X360 title almost while the outdoor environments look like they came out of a PS2 era game. I am 7 hours into this game and have only finished episode one lol. Driving is terrible in this game and aiming your gun is a bit of a pain. Shooting and aiming is in line with RE5. In the areas with monsters it really does feel like a Silent Hill spawn, the cheesiness actually brings in a bit of humor to this game as well, PS Agent Morgan sure does know his movies.

2/10 score by IGN is simply rubbish tbh. Going off of the price factor and the pros and cons I have seen so far I'd give this game around a 7.3/10.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
