Nintendo and MS would have to let sony make one.. and I dont see how this will work in Sony's advantage..

I thought about that too.

Also, virtual buttons suck and touch sensitive screens are expensive (right now anyways). Even if this controller lasted multiple generations (doubt it would survive that much of a beating) I would rather have real buttons.

well its not a patent they will not do it now, and there is nano technolgy research going for such technology.

look nokia 888.

patents only last so long so it has to be coming "soon" (so next generation of consoles would be a reasonable expectation), also flexible phones does not equal having physical pressable buttons. Even then, are we talking $800 for a controller? With no phone contract to subsidize it something like that would be extremely expensive.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Why would I want a universal controller instead of using the controllers that came with said system? I don't see the appeal.

This seems ridiculous to me. buttons are better than touch screen any day of the week - especially when fast response is critical. Not to mention thumb sticks.... no screen is going to be as comfortable and effective. And lastly, don't most people drop their controllers? phone rings, knock at the door, microwave dings, etc, and you hastily put the controller down and occasionally is slides off and hits the ground. but that's fine, because it's not like it's a big touchscreen.

Looks like Sony is trying to also makes some cash on this juggernaut called 360
