Forums - Sony Discussion - tatsuonoko vs capcom on other consoles?

CvT didn't sell 138k... NPD put it at like 50k for first week :/. I dunno why VGC hasn't updated or whatever, but yeah it seems over tracked.

But yeah, I'm surprised Capcom haven't put it on PS360 yet, seeing as MvC 2 was a pretty big hit on PSN / XBLA. We'll see something from the series soon I'm sure :).

I'll be buying CvT on Wii once I see it for £15 or so anyway.

It didn't flop on the Wii, and I bought it and I am not disappointed a bit.
It's one of the best games on Wii, and If your a true "hardcore" fighting fan like you claim to be you shouldn't have any problem buying this game on the Wii.

it sold only 139,000-units in 2 weeks that's a flop/failure. just because im a street fighter fan doesnt mean i have to buy the nintendo wii's version. when i buy a street fighter/any game i want the full experience. out of the 139,000 people who bought it how many of them are actually playing it online? how many of them are even familiar to street fighter/tatsunoko and didnt just buy it randomly cause of the commcercial? ill tell you this; ill definitely be getting the ps3 version and playing online against others. ill support tatsunoko vs. capcom but on the psn not wii. psn/xbl is a better market than wii, more people will buy it and play it online thus giving the full street fighter cross vs. experience

How many on this site are familiar with Tatsunoko, before this game? I dare you to find one person who isn't japanese and was well-versed about Tatsunoko before this game was announced.

i knew about tatsunoko so did my brother and friends. and no we arent japanese, chinese, or any type of asian. i am an anime person but my bro isnt and some of our friends yet knew who tatsunoko was

I'm an anime-person to the extent that I self-taught myself japanese and I'd never heard of Tatsunoko in my life, because all of their anime is really oldschool and 100% japan-oriented, so you'll have to excuse me if I don't believe you.

EDIT: Please also note that I said well-versed with Tatsunoko, not just knowing what it is.

You definitely come out as overly arrogant with certain comments. I know limited japanese but still need to rely on sub titles for a good portion. I've known Tatsunoko since Gatchaman and Speed Racer, as well as Robotech (not sure if it was 100% them or collaboration). In recent years I stumbled upon Karas and was delighted with both the OVA's as well as the US version divided in 2 movies The Prophecy and The Revelation (Otoha vs the waterdemon is still one of my favorite fights in all anime). Perhaps it helped alot that I was in Colombia in the late 80's early 90's where they get massive amounts of anime waaaaaay before the US had a clue of what was out there, such as Saint Seiya, Heaven Wars Shurato (oh I think Tatsunoko also took part in this one rofl well whatdaya know), Captain Tsubasa (watched it up to the point Japan played Brasil and Tsubasa meets with his mentor who dissapeared after the first season iirc), Magic Knight Rayearth (this exposed me to Clamp and made me like female heroes more), etc. I hope by now you get the idea by now.

And for the record I didn't start paying attention to the studios and creators until I watched Magic Knight Rayearth, and later on I was able to make the Tatsunoko connection once I watched Karas and decided to rewatch to Gatchaman. But anyways thanks to your post, you reminded me to watch ep. 8 of Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas. Have a good one.

I'm sorry but I don't really see the point of your post. I bolded everything that didn't seem relevant at all to my post or to the thread in general, it kind of felt like you just wrote an introduction to yourself, which admittedly was nice, but not really... as I said, relevant.

To continue going off-topic, I've only read the manga of Lost Canvas but I've got some of the anime on my computer. Is it any good? Only seen the opening, but I quite liked it.

I guess our off topic conversation will be the common ground and one that will interest me more. YES the lost canvas anime was beautifully done. It looks crisp and minus the 3D mix in the Hades Chapter Sanctuary, it looks cleaner. I would compare it somewhat to the last Bleach movie Fade to Black (probably a little better but obviously different art). I actually liked Tenma more than Seiya (although Seiya was badass in Heaven Chapter Overture). The Abalfica vs Minos fight was very well done and dramatic as well as Asmita's meeting with Tenma (truly epic). The VA for Tenma definitely put his heart and soul in the performance. I also like the music used throughout.

Further off topic I still have the Chapter Sanctuary dvd's but I saw Chapter Inferno as a letdown (different artists iirc), I found Elysium somewhat better than Inferno. One thing I do want to see is what is supposed to happen after Heaven Chapter Overture. From what I was reading, Seiya is supposed to face Zeus and clean out the pantheon and most likely end the series with Chronos. I have to find the link of the interviews but I remember reading them roughly 3-4 months ago.

P.S. If you somehow find the music that Pandora plays in the anime when Rhadamanthys first walks in her room in the anime you will be my newly found best friend (Saint Seiya has some of my favorite themes).

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

so... me, my brother, and others, were correct tatsunoko vs. capcom was a flop on the wii. in its first week alone it sold only 130,000-units, its second week wasnt any better with 36,000-units sold. now, a lot of people predicted that, if tatsunoko vs. capcom sold terribly capcom would most likely port it to other consoles, do you think they will? me and my brother are sure betting they are. let this be another lesson for capcom, there isnt a fighting game community on the wii then add the wii's dead online and you are destine to fail. ill sure as hell will be getting tatsunoko vs. capcom once on the psn. im also sure it wont sell 130,000 units its first week, so ill give a little prediction. tatsunoko vs. capcom on the psn will sale 300,000 - 500,000-units its first week.

P.S. anyone who bought tatsunoko vs. capcom do you regret it? how's the online? how's the gameplay?

P.SS. me and my brother are hardcore fighting game fans. we been playing street fighter from snes to now. owning games like: x-men vs. street fighter, marvel super hereos vs. street fighter, capcom vs. snk series, marvel vs. capcom series, snk vs. capcom, street fighter alpha series, street fighter 2 series, street fighter 3 series, pocket fighter series, puzzle fighter series, street fighter 4, etc. reason i bring this up is because it seems only the true street fighter/fighting game fans predicted tatsunoko vs. capcom was going to be a huge flop on the wii
