It's the opposite for me. I was sort of liking it at the beginning, but then I got frustrated because the game was too easy, slow and tedious. You can beat this game by using lunging slash alone. I made it to Greede (got the firestone or something like that) and called it a day. This was one of the very few RPGs where I wanted to avoid battling.
I found the story boring. There was nothing interesting about it, and the way it was presented was dreadful. Characters sucked other Yulie. You avatar is a mindless mute who played no part in the story.
The only thing I liked about the game was the character customization and creating combos, but I only used them on trolls and other big monsters.
