Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo wins again in piracy war.

Not sure I agree with this. Even though R4 is probably primarily used for piracy, it's still just the tool, and a tool that can be used for perfectly legal purposes.

Though it's much tougher, it's the act of piracy that should be the focus, not the tools. They should be going after pirates individually and not being lenient. In addition to making piracy less attractive in other ways (a game doesn't have to be just the data on a disc).

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Around the Network

$520,000 seems rather low. Not saying that from a personal opinion, just that compared to previous sets of punitive damages, it seems a little low.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Other videogame companies should do the same. This way people will realize of the consequences of pirating and will think it twice before doing so.
I dont care about Nintendo or other company selling more games because piracy has lowered, but I do think it must be frustrating to put your time and effort into making something and then not being compensated economically.

Whos says nintendo does nothing?

Against piracy?  Of the big 3... Nintendo is BY FAR the biggset fighters of piracy.  Always have been.

Hell they took Codemasters to court in the Nintendo days because they were making those bootleg Nintendo cartdiges they sold to people like Wisdom Tree.

Back then they couldn't win disputes like that though.
