I see that there is a huge divide between lovers and haters of the game.
I played the game and I loved it. I looked at some spoilers and that didn't keep me from liking the game. Consider this, is the absence of combat really a bad thing? The silent hill series gained it's superiority by being atmospheric as opposed to being an interactive carnival ride. Sure running from monsters gets repetitive, but there is a silver lining to be appreciated.
What if the shattered memories Dev team remade part 4? What about homecoming? This way we could have those games and those games wouldn't suck. The only reason shattered memories isn't a part of the continuity is because it is a reimagining of an already great game. If they remade the room it could be the canonically correct version.
I should probably say to all the silent hill fans who haven't played the game yet out of fear of unenjoyment, I would say to you that the fear is unjustified because I could actually put shattered memories in the same category as 1-3 with a straight face.
I want to know what some longtime fans of the series think though.
