I dont like the overcinematic blockbuster movie type games..hopefully these dont get to far in the industry, I also dont like the time it takes to develop some games 2 years is ok but 4 or 5 is just to much. I dont like the business over creative and originality..so im not liking the industry path as of now
I both like and dislike the focus on graphics this generation. I like it because we've had some eye-bleedingly cool looking games that are great. And we've had some eye-bleedingly great looking games that have been okay to bad. Mostly I hate the fanboy wars this gen, it gets really tiring.
In the future, well I think we will see much more DD as game sizes shrink (just my opinion) due to more graphic processing being done by the system itself and less pre-rendered stuff eating up storage space. Maybe that onlive thing? (yuck, by the way)
In the future, I hope to see less FPS games and more innovative games like Heavy Rain and original games like The Last Guardian. I would like to see gaming as a whole evolve into something fresh. I really want to see what Nintendo does next Gen, because there concept with the Wii was definitely a move in the right direction. Would be great to see developers focus less on having to add online/co-op because they feel they have to, and try to create the gaming experience they feel fits there creative ideas best.
Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!
Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!
I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!
as i see it at the moment we need something like the 1983 Crash, because almost all games released nowadays are mindnumbingly dull.
there are a few games that are still holding but they are few and they are not the big hits they should be.
this is coming from an avid fan of the old JRPGs and that genre is really hurting at the moment.
in the past before the PS2/Xbox the games were not as much about the graphics as it was about having a good game.
today games are very pretty but as i said they are very dull and most of the big hits are all FPS games, with the occasional racing game.
in the future is think the trend as it is now may continue for a couple of years, and then it will hopefully change with the next generation of consoles.
something that i also see missing is the Local Multiplayer games, i hope they can have a comeback.
All of the above is based on my own opinions.

Past: 90% crap 5% decent 5% fantastic
Present 95% crap 3% decent 2% fantastic
Future 98% crap 1.5 % decent. .5% fantastic
