Yeah... but the Yellow Version didn't have them all....

Bingo. The third versions are just as incomplete as the first two in every case.

More so... because i doesn't match with EITHER.

 

I mean you have a chance for all 3 starters but they aren't in the wild so you don't really have a competitive trading advantage there.... where everyone would WANT to trade with you...

but if you have the third game, everyones already traded between the first two... pretty much have their complete sets and are just doing you a favor then.

Which is why the lure of the 3rd version isn't extra pokemon but expaned content. It has more plot, more features, more post-game stuff to complete. It's an expansion, not a perfect version.
