so yeah guys, i got it back from sony and it sounds great, no sound and it barely gets hot and the nice warm air comes out the back *the fans are working properly* and too add it looks new....however, im worried it wont be this way in a few weeks. so do you think i should sell it and buy a slim? i am prolly gonna sell it anyways, but i wanna know what you guys think, thanks

I believe you should sell it and get the slim because I haven't heard of any ps3 slims brake yet. Also because I have a friend who's 80 gig ps3 broke and it broke a couple months after he got it repaired. :( and so ar my 80 gig ps3 has been living for 2 years and 2 months (:

I sold mine for $400. But I threw in a lot of old Ps2 games. They go for about 300 on ebay (assuming its the 60gb)... but dont use ebay. use craigslist or something. shipping a ps3 to cali for me was 55 bucks.

If it aint the 60gb stick with it

If its a 60gb with BC and you have lots of PS2 games then keep it; if its one of the later, non BC models then sell it for a slim.

Um....play games??? lol.

Seriously though I would keep it, personally I like the older glossy "futuristic" looking models over the "PS2 style" ones.

Although I love what the Slim has done for the popularity of the overall PS3 platform.

plug in the cables , switch on the main power button from the rear, press the power button and insert a CD, then hold a controller triggers faced up and press the "X" button then go to " Game " and press X again , after that you can select the mode and options of your choice.
