Forums - General - Is this the place to post about someone look for game coders?

I was wondering where to post a message for people looking for game coders.  Someone is looking for a coder to work on a game project.  They are seeking someone in the Washington, DC area (USA) to help out.  I was wondering if this is the place to post that, or is there a better spot?  Anyhow, if you know of anyone, please send me a message.

gamedev.net used to be a really good site ... don't know if it is the place anymore though

Thanks. I was also wondering ON VGChartz where the right place to post would be.

The Off-Topic forum is fine, but you might want to specify whether this is a paid position or not as well as what kind of commitment is involved, what kind(and type) of workload is expected, what languages and experience is required, etc.....

I can't go into details, due to an NDA I signed.  The person I am asking for is looking to have someone do the work now, and then they get paid after the project launches.

I work with NDAs a bit so I understand and can apprecaite the restrictions.

Having said that though the quality of applicants is going to be adversly affected unless you are able to provide at least the language you are working with and type of programming work you are in need of.  If the NDA is so restrictive as to not allow the disclosure of even those details publicly I would advise going back to the folks who you are working with and request the ability to at least release that information to your prospects, perhaps by having interested parties contact you for further details etc....

Understand that I'm just trying to help you garner interest, if the restrictions are firm then you can make do with what you have, but the more information you provide the better off you'll be.

The case of the folks is that it someone I made contact with, who isn't local.  I don't work for them, or really with them at this point.  I put a feeler out as a favor.  I also don't fully know what technology they are using at this point.  I know the specs on the game project, but not the technology.  I think the technology to be used is flexible, and likely the coder can give input into it.
