Heres the thing, gears of war is owned by microsoft. However, epic could make a spinoff :P . Doubt it though.

I don't think we'll see Gears and Halo in the same year, let alone in the same quarter. If they release Halo and gears this year, what does that leave for next year? This year seems full of games, but next year seems empty. They'd be smart to keep gears 3 till next year.
