Forums - Microsoft - Windows 7 Phone has xbox live integration and looks awesome...

I just don't see anything in WM7 that blows my mind. It's nice, but nothing that is ground breaking. It's like the Zune, nice but not great. Some people will buy it, but it will have no impact on Apple.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

If anyone is interested in the Live integration aspects of WM7, check out this blog. The dude works at MS.

Some snippets from the blog.  The snipper about shifting "online gaming" from the xbox to the cloud is particularly telling.  Live might have some crazy new shit coming down the pipeline.

"We’re shifting our “online gaming” focus from the Xbox to the cloud, which will enable whole new ecosystems for game developers, publishers, and consumers to explore. And we’ve rebuilt the development platform from the ground up to enable those sorts of connected scenarios. While you shouldn’t look for any specific announcements from the diagram below (ie, “mobile” just means “not fixed”), it should give you an idea of where our center of gravity is going forward."

"That said, this will take time. We’ll have to work closely with game developers and publishers to figure out the best ways to enable their goals. We’ll have to work with consumers to understand the sorts of game scenarios that people most want. I’ll be spending a lot of time here writing about those scenarios, what we’re thinking, as well as seeking your input and feedback so we can incorporate into our product planning. And I hope you’ll join in the conversation."

It is interesting that Windows 7 Phone is missing two features that people love to criticize the iPhone/iPod/iPad for lacking. No flash and no multitasking.

Is 6.5 bad, what was wrong with it?

I guess it confirms the idea that Microsoft will take saved games online. That way I can log into your account and get all those hard achievements like the 10 headshot one for Halo. Also get you past the hard bits like the first Elite in Halo 3.

Tease.

Nothing wrong with is as such just that it was considered a dinosaur once the iPhone was released and the more recent phone improvements just continued on that theme. I actually prefer the Windows mobiles to a Blackberry for example especially the Email with Exchange.

I was going to switch my Blackberry for one of the newer 6.5 Windows mobiles but knew this was in the offing. I probably still will as I am not sure I can put up with this Blackberry until Xmas.

Do you know if the HTC tilt2 is any good. It has 6.5, I want to wait but my phone dies way to fast.
