That is only using an XML based web service that MS offers to people that allow. The integration with the WM7 phones will be as robust as on the 360. As in voice messaging, online gaming, achievements, game downloading, parties, etc. |

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were talking about a phone :)
oh, this looks great. I just hope that the touch interface is as smooth as the Nexus One.
Great, not we need a PhoneChartz to track iPhone vs. Android vs. Windows phone sales
This is a large reason why the EDD ran losses inspite of Xbox 360 success. They invested very heavily in this platform and im curious to see this all pan out. Man I thought we wouldn't see anything on this until later this year and then BOOOM they come out with this. God, Microsoft surely knows how to keep a secret. You can't predict anything about them just because you haven't heard a rumour.
Tease.

It's not slated for realease til the holidays. I wouldn't exactly call it a secret or a major surprise. With Google and Apple in the weeds, this wait could be devastating. Apple and Google could launch major revisions and have them in the hands of consumers before a consumer is even able to buy it.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

They can afford to wait. They can soak in the positive feedback from Windows 7 and that alone will get this product off to a good start, assuming it doesn't suck that is.

I don't think so. Developers are making apps now. They aren't going to wait. Apple will have an install base of over 70 million. Google will have an install base in the tens of millions. Apple and Google aren't going to be standing still either. While MS is still working out the first generation bugs, Google and Apple with be on their third and fourth generations. Apple and Google are SERIOUS competitors. You have to be a lot better, not just slightly better to beat them. I just don't see this as being a lot better.

This is a well known phenomenom. I know all of this. Windows Mobile 8 is probably already being developed, just as the Apple and Google next generation apps are as well. The thing is, Google is stretched pretty thin between their different endeavours so you can't expect something out of left field in 6 months from them and Apple now has the problem that they are stuck with a large incumbant userbase and therefore cannot adjust the course as quickly as a completely blank sheet design that Windows Mobile 7 effectively is, the same problem that Microsoft had with Windows Mobile 2-6.
