I love how HD gaming is so damn advanced yet it can't perform simple tasks like, oh I don't know, have villages and properly display simple text... 8 bit gaming superior to HD gaming confirmed?

Just kidding to those who don't have a sense of humor and to the die hard HD fanatics.

Lets just go back to the black and white crank TV's then with the big ass antennas then.

Times change, things come and go and SDTV had its day. HD Is the now.

Fucking hilarious!

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Just as a side note, even though this has nothing to do with Mass Effect. FF13 is apparently SDTV friendly when it comes to the text. Just wanted to point that out since some of you folks were saying that Mass Effect 2 isn't.

I'm completely baffled by the amount of people that actually SUPPORT developers screwing over SDTV users.. I mean in what way could SD users getting bent over by developers POSSIBLY benefit you people?

The games fucking look awesome?

Yeah but you can make games look awesome without fucking over an entire group of gamers can't you?

Anyway, I REALLY hope Mass Effect 2 bombs in sales after this. Developers need to stop pulling shit like this and have people just continue to shrug it off as "dur oh well, that's just the way it's gotta be, get use to it."

That's stupid. TV stations are required to transmit in HD, now. HDTV is considered a requirement nowadays. Yes, you may have an old SD TV, but HDTVs aren't new. Are cars required to perform well driving through rocky terrain? No, we have roads nowadays. My computer doesn't have a floppy disk drive, either. Technology marches forward, and eventually old technology gets left behind - that's hardly a reason to get angry. (Unless you're 60+.... then by all means, new stuff is expected to make you angry)

I guess I'm confused. I bought a 25" SDTV in 1997, and used it for 11 years (this is why I like Samsung products, BTW), and I upgraded in 2008 a couple months before I got my Xbox 360. Maybe for some people one upgrade "forced" on them in 11 years would be too much. I was okay with it.

And seriously, if you people are going to whine and bitch about prices of entry, why are you cherry picking numbers that completely skew the real picture. You can buy a 15" HDTV for $100-150 that will display that text perfectly clear. You can buy a $300 32" HDTV that works perfectly (there are plenty high quality, good brands at this price). Or as many others have said, you can buy a PC monitor of the 19-22" range from $100-150 or use any current monitor you have provided it has VGA/DVI or HDMI input.

Unless you are a kid with no job, you paid a minimum of $200 to get into this HD console generation. There are HD display options out there for even cheaper than that. Stop. Crying.
