Forums - Gaming Discussion - PC not the most favoured platform?

In this news, Microsoft has denied allowing Alan Wake to be played on a PC

Does this show the declining importance of PC's in gaming, trying to combat piracy or just a deliberate attempt to make people favour console gaming?

Considering console games sell more than PC, yes. Some developers simply prefer selling the game on the console over the PC. In Alan Wake's case I think Microsoft felt that they needed to add another exclusive title to the 360, so people become more interest it and cut the PC version.

Dont you think PC gaming is trying to kill Xbox, Why would MS let PC gaming keep going on?

Wasn't Alan wake originally a PC game? I swear it was but that was so long ago.

Its because people started saying 'wait the game is coming out on PC I don't need an Xbox 360' so Microsoft read those posts and responded in kind.

Its almost like someone works for Microsoft here.. Or Sony...

Hmmm

You can argue back and forth about which is better, but there's one thing that consoles are: easier.

Because of that and the fact consoles are comparable to passable to decent PC's and that's the cause for console becoming the dominant gaming platform.

I'm not saying consoles are better because they're easier, I'm just saying they're more popular because they're easier.

But for a console like the Xbox with so many shooter games, shouldn't it be for the PC as well because the mouse & keyboard are easier controls? Although I prefer the console controller as you can do sweep sniping, which is easier.

Reason this happened is not cause PC isnt a viable moneymaker, its because the 360 lacks exclusives.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I'm guilty of this! The whole reason I didn't get a Xbox360 is because I expected a hell of lot more games to make it on PC.
