Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Gamestop reveals Monster Hunter 3 pre-order bonus

GameStop has revealed their pre-order bonus for the upcoming Nintendo Wii exclusive, Monster Hunter 3. Available for both the regular edition and the Classic Controller Pro bundle, the special Monster Hunter themed 500 Wii Points Card will be yours when you reserve the game online or in the brick-and-mortar stores. This is an unusual pre-order bonus considering that Wii Points aren’t normally offered as free gifts with purchases.

Capcom hasn’t officially confirm whether or not Monster Hunter 3 will have an online subscription fee in North America. In Japan, players have to pay $8 per month in order to play online. Previously, Capcom removed the online subscription fee structure when they brought the original Monster Hunter from Japan to North America.

Monster Hunter 3 will be released on April 6th for the Nintendo Wii.

MH3 will not make Europeans pay for online; don't see why they would in America.
The 500 Wii Points card is an incentive to get people to use the internet.

Last I read it was only rumored to have free online in Europe.

If anyone saw Iwata's last talk with investors he talked at length about connecting Wii users online in any way possible. This is probably one of his ways.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Cool. Everybody who gets that point card should use it to buy Tamena Sanner.

If Nintendo can't push a million MH3-units in the west, then nobody can.
