Forums - Gaming Discussion - EDGE review scores - Heavy Rain (7) - Mass Effect 2 (9) - Bioshock 2 (8)

i didnt read through all of the pages, but wouldnt it be more fair to compare Mass Efffect 1 to Heavy Rain, i mean Mass Effect 2 being the second installment of the Mass Effect franchise i'm sure Bioware made alot of improvments on what was bad about Mass Effect 1 (which got a 7 from EDGE). So if Heavy Rain 2 ever comes out, that's the game that should be compared to Mass Effect 2

They're won't be a sequel to HEAVY RAIN.

There is no intention to use the engine again? The main complaint that I was hearing was length of the game and that is easily adjusted in a follow up / new story.

Imo Edge is the worst gaming magazine, and is never subjective on games.and for you that expected 7 for heavy rain, check out other sites magazines....Go check metacritic for example. The games has scored 100 on many occasions. It has just caused controversy because many people are to conservative to accept it's theme.Anyway thats just my opinion

Bayonetta is very creative, running along buildings whilst lava is chasing you from below; then later moving to a surreal setting, like paradise, then onto a moving catherdral whilst you are fighting Fortitudo. I've only just downloaded the Heavy Rain demo so I will be interested to see how it play's too.

Edge do make mistakes, but they do get many reviews correct. I agree with Demon's Soul and Uncharted 2 as being two of the best games available for the PS3.

Look at it in a bright way, maybe they have higher standards with the ps3?

Nah, they re just 360 supporters

And dont get me wrong,I Like the 360, but i hate magazines that chose sides

According to Metaforum.com, 8/10 Edge haters don't read the magazine, they just moan about the scores.

I'm disappointed in Edge. They obviously didn't like it all that much, but they didn't have the cahones to give it a bad score.

Actually I can't fathom a 7/10 score for this game by anyone. This game always seemed like a love/hate game to me. 7/10 looks like a cop out score, either don't want to give it a really good score, or don't have the courage to give it the bad score you think it deserves.

7/10 is a safe score, which I never thought Edge would do.

The whole point reviewers have been trying to get across in almost every review is that describing the game in words does the game a great disservice. It's not a "love/hate" relationship, it's a "the game doesn't play anything like how trolls have been describing it" relationship. (I am aware that this is not a relationship)
