ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!
In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!
It will be a LONG slow road but they might get there eventualy. After logging some time in plat version i see nintendo moving things forward a bit on the online side of things and gen 5 will be more telling as to what we can expect in the future. The real rub lies in the fact that Nintendo wants player interaction to be family friendly, and as long as there are douchbags like the ones i keep running into on the WOW servers out there i can't see nintendo hosting a game as open as an MMO would have to be. Friend codes and Wii speak didn't just fall out of someone in Ninty HQ's ass, they were though out and exuctued plans, and anybody hopeing they will just disaper because the 16-32 demographic doesn't like them had better not hold their breath while they wait.
Also if we ever do see a pokemon MMO, it will most likly be on a handheld, seeing as that's really where the heart of the series lies. here's to hoping the next gen handheld can pack enough punch to at least keep us dreaming........

1. I think they have forgotten gamers this gen for the most part. 2. vitality sensor...........RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3. hugh step backwards, it's why they are being ingored by the industry, which main focus is progress though even that is kinda vague, no real developer is going to put any time or effort in making a title on the wii because they have the ps3 and xbox 360 to work with, there is no way around the fact that the wii is in all ways incapable of proving anything that the next gen console can't and then some, also judging by the stuff that sells amazingly well on the wii, why should they, if wii fit, sports, play, wii watever sells 10's of millions of units, so to a developer that says I can put any casual crap together and it will sell bucketloads riiight, this is of course wrong, at least their casual crap is actually fun, even if only when your stoned or with you gamer dumb family. I try really hard to like the wii but it is in no way worth my money, no game or games can match my ps3, friends 360 (LMAO), and pc library, they are fun and probaly good games, but my type of gamer not worth it, I game for hours upon hours upon hours, 26 straight on killone 2 once, I see nothing for the wii that can ever hold that much of my time, look I really want to like the wii, and if you can tell me some titles you think would be worth it I would check them out,
but A pokemon mmo/rpg now that's what I can see myself spending hours upon hours of game time on that, as long as they don't screw the contolls with that motion crap, ( screw wii motion controlls, screw sony dildo (but if it comes with vibrate I'm soo buying it, make gaming with my girlfriend super awesome imo), and screw natal.
ps. I apologise wii fans for my ignorance but i just don't see the point. . |
Just for fun, I'll counter your points
1) they haven't forgotten the gamer. They have brought back Punch-Out!! and 2D Mario (both excellent games), and they also are bringing a 2nd 3D Mario, Zelda, and Metroid all in the next year. The whole "forgot the hardcore" or whatever has never held any weight and has been garbage spewed by the media and nintendo haters. If you compare the "hardcore" output of Nintendo to previous generations you'll see they are right on pace.
2) if this is all it takes for you to hate a video game company, then I feel bad for you. The vitality sensor hasn't done anything other than chew up time from the hardware R&D and maybe a tiny software R&D team.
3) how could they take a huge step backwards when it is 2 gamecubes duct taped together. That is progress. Not only that, but both Sony & Microsoft are copying Nintendo's motion controller trying to capture the market that they have created. In fact, not only that, but every game on a HD system can be made on the Wii without the loss of gameplay features (minus HD visuals) but not every game can be made on the PS3 or X360 due to the lack of proper motion control or pointer hardware. If anything, Microsoft and Sony stepped sideways, while Nintendo leaped and bounded ahead. Oh, and you could easily play MKWii for 26 hours straight, not that I would play any game on any system for 26 hours straight.
gamings_best said: I really hate the wii, for some misplaced since of hardcore gaming I just hate it, I know it's completely wrong of me but I can't help it, however I will cease my enteral hatred for all that nintendo has become if they publish a pokemon mmo, rpg. See i don't care what anyone say pokemon, (last I played was crystal......blew me away) was more hardcore than most jrpg's, I was never so interested in grinding ever. and trying to capture ALL those poke mon and get them ALL to lv. 100 was a truly daunting task that was so rewarding once it's done. I think if they make a console equivalent I would fork over the money for the wii in a heartbeat. anyone eles think they sould try to make a pokemon console rpg, |
Completely true.
And I agree with you, they should make a MMO Pokémon for the Wii (or the next Nintendo console). That's exactly what I am asking for years.

I loved my n64
idk bro I will look into the some of those games, but the majority are nothing I would stick with or convincing to buy a wii, I mean compared to the other stuff I already have.
