Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Xbox 360 Bundle includes 250GB hard drive, will cost $399

Launching simultaneously with Final Fantasy XIII in the US is a limited edition 250GB Xbox 360 console. Included in the box is a copy of the game, two wireless controllers, a headset, a FF-branded hard drive, and "exclusive downloadable avatar items" -- perhaps something to go with your pet Chocobo. All of this will be packaged together for $399, according to Major Nelson.

Microsoft is trying to make sure Final Fantasy fans from the PS2 generation will choose Xbox 360 as their console of choice. The carefully worded press release notes that this is "the only console outside of Japan to be bundled with the game." In other words, don't expect the limited edition PS3 to make its way Stateside. Ever.

In addition, Microsoft also plans to release a Final Fantasy XIII faceplate designed by Tetsuya Nomura and not included with the special edition bundle. The press release doesn't explain exactly how to get one, only stating that a "very limited number" will be available "promotionally in fixed quantities across select retailers in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand."

Whoever gets that faceplate can make a killing on ebay.

it doesnt have installs for the ps3 either... if you want to buy it for the 360 then go ahead, but the ps3 has exclusive home items! omg  its better! THey both will have the same dlcs, ps3 may get more because of japan...  

Casual FF fans who were looking forward on picking up a system for FFXIII might pick up this one. It's a pretty sweet deal. Also this might sway some PS2 owners into upgrading to a 360 instead of a PS3. Smart business move by Microsoft.

Anybody know which company is going to market the game or is Square going to do by themselves?

I think fans of ff13 have already gotten the systems it's coming out for.I don't thing some avatar intems will sway them at all.This is just a normal bundle.I don't think this is a huge thing.The MW2 bundle wasen't so how will FF bundle do?

they have yet to announce that but i betting on ps3.

But doesn't Sony have their own game to market at the sametime (God of War 3).

it will be like the assasin creed 2 ads it show of the game release date then ps3 it does everything.

The MW2 bundle was very successful, but of course it was released during the Holiday season. Still, I see this doing very well as well. I'm tempted to pick one up for some reason.
