Man, the 360 is just a lost cause in Japan.

Microsofts's new adverts are doing nothing for sales in Japan I see.

the 360 in japan is considered dead. not even the heavens can help it now.

I wonder how many of the million 360s in Japan are actually owned by japanese gamers? It wouldn't surprise me if more than half of them were bought by non-japanese people living in Japan....

honestly probably a very small percentage.  The boosts in Japan have clearly been due to games that don't sell systems in the west.  The games are still in Japanese for the most part, and the ones that aren't translated you'd be lucky to ever find anyway.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Wii showing some strong new life in Japan...curious, as I thought it was going to be solidly in second place...interesting indeed. DS doing big things too...really interesting.

The 360 is still posting sales the original xbox would have died for, I doubt Microsoft expected much better numbers than they've achieved. Japan support was all about getting devs on board, they have them now so they can coast for the rest of this generation now in Japan.

That being said this is boring old news discussed every week, we do get that some of you must insist on gloating every single week though.

To add some nice balance, PS3 sales falling like a stone and will probably steadily drop to around 10k by the end of March. It's had the Slim, a price cut and FFXIII and its been decimated by the Wii still, PS3 is dead in Japan too.

Even though I support this "theory", when I am in Japan, I always see more Japanese people browsing 360 games than I see people browsing PS3, PSP, Wii, etc. This is in Bic Kamera though. However, sales figures paint a very different picture. Just funny that I see so many people browsing 360 games and the 360 when they practically do not sell anything at all=p

yeah the 360 has a presence in stores, i lived in Japan during the launch of the 360, and i went back there last year as well.  You would think by looking at the sales it would have very little shelf space but it isn't that small.  They had 360 demos set up in the very front of the stores sometimes.  I am pretty sure foreigners buy barely any of those systems.  360 is the otaku system, the nerdiest guys have them.
