Yes, it annoys me that Microsoft lets developers make the game they want to make and if they see interest in the title, throw additional money at the developer to improve the game or just break even on its development.

Damn them.

You know what's even worse? That later on, PS3 fans MIGHT GET TO ENJOY THAT SAME GAME!

ARGH! Damn you, Microsoft!

only if they did it for that :p.

So what if they do it for other reasons? At the end of the day, the developer creates the IP THEY want, MS gets timed exclusivity, and the developer gets additional funding to put into that game or their next title.

Oh, and PS3 owners may get the game at a later date. As a consumer, that business model is way better for us than the typical first or second party developer system.

The problems are these

1. MS lies and suppresses any information suggesting it's going to go to ps3 so anyone who doesn't know better gets ripped off

2. 360 owners get screwed out of decent exclusives since MS doesn't bother making any

true that, not only that they stop people from playing a game they had zero input other that paying for timed exclusvity.

it's not better than having ur own first party, look and sony and nintendo.

Sony and nintendo both make unique and innovative games that most mutliplats don't even come close to (Infamous, Mario Galaxy, LBP)

It's funny to see this, yet you give no other explanation.

i can't it would be considered trolling :p

yes im sick of this strategy thats 1 of the reasons im not a MS fan sony really never did this where they go all out and pay devs i hate it when they do it to games that where once multi like SP conviction and GTA4 dlc could of been released for ps3 at the same time

I believe sony realized this tactic and thats why we've been seeing so many stellar ps3 exclusives this gen they must see that they have to take a different route instead of rely on games that helped them last gen that are pretty much all now multi like RE5, Silent Hill, Tekken, Devil May Cry FF, MGS, WWE SmackDown , Guitar Hero, Medal of Honor, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, GTA

its kinda good for sony though b/c they see that most all there last gen exclusives are gone so they must go back in the lab and create new franchises and thats wat theyve done this gen with titles like Resistance motorstorm uncharted infamous demons souls heavy rain ect

in conclusion i hate it i think that there should be just one Hd console or all games should be multi to begin with

Are the games somehow worse after they're on multiple systems?

FFXIII is, and my point is I wouldn't of bought a 360 if I knew it's exclusives weren't you know exclusive

So you would have waited all those extra months/years to play those games?  Don't be silly.  Grow up and get banned, tr***.

I've waited months to get my 360 repair (overall) already and yea since I'd have ps3 exclusives, it was close but the 360 was cheaper and I didn't intend to play online, but the exclusives went mutliplat so it was a mistake

Uh, except not ALL the exclusives went multiplat.  In fact, of those that did, it was mostly limited to JRPGs and I can still count that number of games on one hand.  MS exclusives I can count a lot higher than that.

You're finger pointing to the wrong people, the developers suppress and sometimes lie about that information.

I just don't know where to begin with this...........

The developers are paid to lie, don't blame the end, blame the means. And the means is Microsoft lies and pays others to lie.

Yes Rockstar couldn't of broken even without that $50 from MS *eye roll* stop deluding yourself

That was a loan and yes, Rockstar was in MASSIVE financial trouble at the time. The company hadn't had a hit game since San Andreas and rumors were swirling that EA may initiate a hostile takeover manuevre. Rockstar had been losing its ass for several quarters in a row before that $50m was handed to them.

MS did them a big favor and got two neat exclusives in return. Fair trade.

TIMED exclusives, and that wasn't a loan from what I heard, and if Rockstar was in that much trouble they deserve to go under, how many of those music games do they own the rights too? not to mention GTA, what the hell are they wasting their money on

So you'd rather see a company go under than see another company set up a mutually beneficial arrangement that gives them both a shot in the arm and continued success.

Yep, I'm done with this thread. It's a giant waste of my time.

Just FYI, you're borderline trolling and need to tone it down. You're not even trying to be reasonable. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

In rockstars case yes, I looked on wiki for their games list, it's just GTA and 1 other game for 2009 and GTA is a huge seller, if they got bankrupt it's for sheer stupidity, frankly I think you are just full of it and making stuff up

That's enough. I'm locking this down. It's a troll-fest. I'll be issuing warnings once I get enough time to read all this nonsense.
