2D sonic games...though if your need a franchise as a whole I would suggest Ninja Gaiden odd thing I dislike both the 2d and 3d versions..

Former something....

^^^But there's only two Assassins/Chrono games. Otherwise, Chrono Trigger would be in the top three franchises of all time.......except for the fact that Chrono Cross sucked (in my opinion).

Well, if you count the Japanese only Radical Dreamers, then you could say that the Chrono series has had three installments. But I haven't played it so I cannot comment on its quality.

And Chrono Cross did not suck   It makes me cry everytime I hear someone say that.

I guess maybe its a love it or hate it type of game.

Okay.  Chrono Cross didn't suck.  I used to hmmm that ending song to my baby when she cried at night.  I still remember it!  I guess it just wasn't the kind of sequel that I wanted it to be.  It was a good RPG (with beautiful graphics in the year 2000) but it didn't continue the original story as much as I'd like.  It did offer one of the biggest WTF!?! moments I'd ever seen, though.

Theres like 4 or 5 Assassin's Creeds.

AC1, AC2, 2 DS ones and Bloodlines (PSP).

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

I guess main Final fantasies, even XI is considered a great MMO

to make the list, every game in the series should be a very good game. I love Castlevania, but the N64 version was a turd. Same goes for quite a few Final Fantasy's.
