I wonder when we'll find out any more info about this title. It's been like about two years since this was announced, so any chance of this getting any mention sometime soon?

Soriku said: SE said they would have some sort of DQ surprise in Summer or something...could be DQ X. At absolute latest I expect a TGS showing. |
That's true, and it's only been like last year since DQ9 was released. So there's no real rush, although I DO think it will do some good to give the game some hype if it is to be a smash hit in Japan (something tells me it will be).
you had me there for a second, i thought you had a peice of info or something >_
OT: i'm not too hyped for this game, but your right, it HAS been a while since we've heard anything about this game (do we know anything??)
i don't think the DQ9 team = DQ10 team, so maybe they've been working on it since before DQ9 was released (?)... then again what do i know
Heh, I also thought he had some sort of information.

Sadly, I don't have more information about this than you, but I would at least like to say that this should be another good third-party success for Wii. Even though the support from the third-parties is winding down somewhat, it isn't totally disappearing, and DQX is proof of that.
That and there are also games coming out this year (have come out already) from 3rd parties which actually look interesting too. Oh, and Nintendo's new titles as well.
If you ask me, this is gonna be Wii's finest year; hopefully third parties will see some similar success on the system with some of these titles coming up.
As I've said before, most DQ games don't see any announcements or video of their gameplay until nearly 2 years after they are announced. And it hasn't been even 2 years since it was announced. Not even a year. So we might need to wait a while, especially since Dragon Quest IX just came out and there's 2 more titles on the way (in Japan). Not to mention 4 titles to be released outside of Japan....
I'd expect 2012 release date at the earliest and some footage of the game to be shown at TGS this year very unlikely, but could happen.
@Kenryoku: DQX was announced exactly 1 year and 2 months ago. On December 10 2008.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
You'll have to wait until E3 earliest imo for a possible unveiling then TGS for a media blowout, I can see a 2012 release date.
Hopefully it will come out in 2011. But knowing S-E, I concur with a 2012 release.
Also, I think once FF XIII and DQ IX come out in the western (outside of Japan), S-E will then turn its attention to its next projects.

I knew you didn't have any info. But yeah this is one of my highly anticipated games, because it was announced for Wii O.o what were the chances? Then again PS3 got FFXIII and Versus and they can't have everything now right? That would be greedy!
