I forget to say this...
God of War II is (a lot) better than Dante's Inferno.
Of the Hack n slashes, my fav is Ninja Gaiden (bought NG, NGB, NGS, NGS2). I dont know why it didnt get a mention here. The gameplay is just unrivaled. Second used to be DMC but after the OMEGA EPIC FAILURE of DMC4, I'm not an impulsive buyer of DMC games anymore (I bought 1,2,3,4 and actually think 2>4...yeah, bring the flames).
I've never bought/played a GoW game but may get GoW3 as it's looking too epic to pass up. I skipped bayonetta due to its ps3 issues but I heard there's a patch now so I may get it sometime down the line.

Your opinion will change a little after buying and playing God of War III, but I recommend buying and playing God of War Collection first.
the demo for dante's inferno was good but certainly not god of war level.
but devil may cry is much better than both.
DevilMayCry > God of War > Ninja Gaiden > What ever other game like it. So far that is how things have been for me.
Personally I have no comments on Dante's Inferno except for when I played the demo and it honestly really did feel almost exactly like God of Wars no matter how much I tried to not think about it.
The only Devil may cry that I liked was part 3, Ninja gaiden is ok IMO.
