I don't get one thing from what now seems a majority in the US.

Why do people think that Obama's actions will take effect right from the get-go, or at least within the year?! Has no one ever learned antyhing about economic cycles?

Investments take time to come to fruitition. If you want to set up something new, it requires a lot of planning, checking, re-planning, trialing and implementing. If you want to change something it will have to go through all the same cycles.

Let me give an example. The company I used to work for desired a new system that would make patient-administration more streamlined. This new system functions exactly the same, it only looks different and has a few new display-options. With all the talks, creating it, testing it, etc it has now taken 2 years from conception to implementation. And this is just a "simple" piece of software in a company. Now imagine re-shaping healthcare for a whole fucking country.

I'd say that you can only judge a government after three years - and even that is pushing it. You can criticize immidiate actions or reactions from the government - like a war, but you can't judge them for trying to do something new or change a feature.

Why won't she go away. I'm tired of the Sarah palin coverage. She was the vice president canidate for John Mcain for the people that don't know who she is. She left the door open for a 2012 run for president. What a sad day it would be if she ran. I'm also tired of the tea party coverage. Yeah we get it no goverment, taxes blah,blah,blah-end rant.

The majority of media in the U.S. has a conservative slant to it and, to conservatives, whatever Sarah Palin does is considered news. Of course, all this media coverage is backfiring on her. This is a person who has to write down answers to press questions on her hand...

I'd definitely disagree on the conservative slant... I'd say it's the other way around. When you have people like Lou Dobbs on CNN (though he recently resigned), Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, and Katie Couric on CBS, it's quite liberal.

But as far as Palin goes, only a fool would argue with you; what a crap candidate.

Funny, that's what my Economics, Stock Market, and A.P. U.S. History teachers told me. But they can't be right only tea party extremists with little to no economic knowledge can give accurate statements concerning economic cycles.......duh.

a clone? i think that woman has a secret life.

Figured these would be the replies. As far as Palin goes, she will not be the 2012 nominee. My money is on Romney or Thune. To be honest I fully supported her. She is a nice person and her staffers were nice 2 (met 1 @ a campaign event in '08 when I worked the McCain HQ). For me though, she is a polarizing figure and cannot even appear to move to the center (great for say TX and the GOP primaries in certain states but not in a general unless The One is like 20% app) Inds vote Dem with her as the nom and she splits off a 10th of the Rep base.

In short, personally she is great. Politically, her best bet is local and state.

First, if media coverage slants anywhere it slants to the left in the US, and frankly I find the notion that it slants right to be downright comical. There simply is not a serious argument to be made for conservative media dominance when polls of journalist repeatedly show a 4:1 or greater advantage for liberals in journalism (Well meaning or not people are human and bias is introduced).   The only media market that conservatives dominate is talk radio, but outside of that one market the media outlets that slant to the right are the exception to the rule.

As for Palin writing on her palm...OK lets just review really quick:

This glass thing next to Obama's head gives him every word he will say.

This is a list of topics which will still require Palin to actually be able to speak off the top of her head about those issues.

OK, now that we have that straight why don't you go ahead and finish telling us all what it means that Palin wrote some topics on her hand.  I know I know you had a great trailing finish where it was implied how horrific it was without actually having to commit to any position you might later be expected to defend...but I wanna know exactly what it means to you when someone writes down a list of topics so they don't forget to talk about them.  So exactly how damning is this?
