do you believe in Video game ratings?

Yes, to an extent 6 46.15%

yes, but I don't know why 0 0%

no, it never affected me what games I played 3 23.08%

Hell no! Killers were born sociopaths 2 15.38%

I really don't care 2 15.38%

Total:13

I personally don't believe in Video game ratings because scientifically, killers were either born that way or have parents that have abused them. Videogames don't make you kill/rape. To me, Fox news just makes up that shit, they probably find a murdered suspect that happens to own fifa and all the sudden they change the story to make it seem like he killed his uncle to play Fifa etc.. you get my point. It really insults me that they mess up the box art with that mess. (not that it affected me at'll, i got to play any game i asked for.)

do you guys agree with me or disagree...post your thoughts and vote!

Well video games are the only meduim tat involes killing. Nobody else does that. I mean they are so popular. Video games have to be the culprit /sarcasm

Also ratings are thir for the parents really. I mean I don't want to buy a game that looks like its for teen than find out its full of blood and kids will be permently scared for life

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)

nop'

If something only gets very good scores, then it has to be good.. (Ex:Uncharted 2)
If something gets bad scores continuously, then its probably bad..(Ex:Terminator Salvation..lol)
If something gets good scores AND pretty average scores, then I'll check them out later ( Ex; Dante's Inferno)

So to some extent, yes...but the idea of comparing different gmes based on meta scores is kinda lame...

Edit : ROFL ! FAIL POST..

Not reading the OP FTW !

I think those ratings are BS, since there are a lot of action movies rated PG13, while similar games are rated M17+....

Its utter BS..

I hate them:
I wanted to Brawl with my 9 year old cousin but my parents:
"only you can play it" after that they understood

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Some things don't need to be seen by little kids.... so yes ratings are ok, as long as they aren't overdone.

I am going to say yes.
It's up to parents to decide what games their children should play though.
I believe most rated "M" games need to be bumped down to a "T" though. The only reason there are more of those games these days is because of realism. In extreme cases like heavy rain & others where it contains many adult themes, then it should be rated M. Realism should not be the deciding factor that makes a game "m" unless it's really, really graphic. And it usually isn't even that.
The ESRB needs to adapt to the HD consoles, IMO.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... only if they are my ratings

Yes, and parents should actually follow the ratings for their kids.

When I was like 11 or so I wanted to play GTA3 really badly but my parents wouldn't let me. I thought it was stupid then but I see why now. I wouldn't want my young kids playing that sort of game. The ratings should be changed though; Games that generally get Mature ratings currently (Like Call of duty) should be dropped down to Teen so mature can be saved for the uber violent games like Hitman, GTA, etc.
