I think yes, still pent-up demand for the PS3 here. This has nothing to do with everyone's anecdotal evidence though.

PS3's are sold out nearly everywhere across the US and not because of the demand but because of Sony. Rumor has it there is a new SKU coming and stores are waiting for it.
