That is a matter of opinion. For me XII is better than IX, and XI is the best MMO on the planet. So :P

Never owned a Tales game but have played some like Vesperia. They're just meh. Final Fantasy however is incredible.

Currently own: PC (duh), SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP.

Tales' battle system is much more enjoyable for me, but Final Fantasy destroys the Tales series in pretty much everything else.

At the end of the day, though, I'd still go with a Tales game.
