People discounting Natal should take a look at the book Fumbling the Future: How Xerox Invented, then Ignored, the First Personal Computer which basically tells the story of how Xerox invented the first personal computer (mouse, graphic user interface, etc) only to have some people in management not understand how significant it was or the impact it would have on the future.

So basicly, Natal is as revolutionary as the first Personal Computer (mouse included). Sweet!

I hope it is. I really want Natal to do well. We'll see.

If it is as revolutionary as the mouse or PC, sign me up! But if its Bouncy Balls 2010 im just going to laugh. Motioncontrollers and casual Wii type games is not my cup of tea.

I think Legend's point was merely that just because one person finds no use in something(ie: a PC), doesn't mean other won't.  Not that it will be as revolutionary as the PC.

I think there lies a danger in overhyping something that is not proven yet. This Natal component could prove to be a game changing addition however with the overhype if Natal is just a good peripheral and not this great revolution in gaming input it could hurt sales and diminish the impact.

Seems like flies on shit in this opening page on this thread...

Considering the hyping history of this man I would take his comments with a grain of salt.

We all know the wonders he said a about his games, mostly The Movies, Black&White and Fable series.

He hyped those games like hell, they were being developed to "set a new bar". Which wasn't really true after all is said and done.

This man has a big mouth and he's paid to say this, don't forget.
Personally I'll get pumped when some reliable outsiders say something like this about Natal.

And by reliable outsiders I mean famous\respectable guys that are not "hired" by Microsoft to promote the camera like Steven Spielberg at E3.

It's not confirmed to be overhyped until Molyneux hypes it.

he has a point though.

Yeah, he does have some pretty good points.

And for the record:

He did not say Natal will be as revolutionary as the PC mouse, he said the input devices changed the experience of a computer and Natal could be another big change for an input device.

What he said.

Coming from the creator of Black and White I think that I'm going to give that statement a raincheck and reconsider it in a couple of years time.
