DSi XL is arriving at Europe and, probably, in the Americas next month. Plenty of people stated that the XL version is useless and there's no reason for buying it unless you're some sort of someone's grandpa/grandma. In fact, I was against the reease of this version since the first moment I saw it, but I'm starting to change my mind, I don't know why. My brother is bringing my DSi from Canada next week (I still have the original version with Metroid Prime: Hunters demo), and I don't really think I'll be tempted to buy the larger version.

But, for some people here, I think it's good to start this topic and I wanted to know from you what are good reasons for buying (or not buying) DSi XL. I mean, larger screen only doesn't count, I want to know in which way it's better (duh, like anyone didn't know already =P) or worse. What kind of environment is the best for playing it, what else it brings besides the screen, you know, things that actually will make people think whether they should buy it or not.

Well, be free to say anything about DSi XL, as long as you don't complain (ou acclaim) about it without reason.

I won't. I already have a DSi. It sucks when you buy somthing than somthing new and better gets announced 3 days later. Nintendo sucks for having redesigns so close together these days. >_

What about me? I bought my GBA and, the next day, they announced the SP version in Japan.

i think my reasoning is good enough, probably getting a Dsi/Dsi LL along with new Pokemon games launch

I don't currently have a DS (sometimes I borrow my wife's or my daughter's), and the main reason is my vision isn't so great and so I hate the little screens. This is the first I am tempted to get. I don't care if you say don't say the screen only doesn't count, but isn't that enough? Why shouldn't that count???

In your position, it's ok, as I said in "grandpa/grandma", it is implied for people who don't see well. I heard the sound is louder than the DSi's, which, as far as I know, has the best one for the first three versions. Is that right or the sound in DSi XL is the same as in the original DSi?
