Huh? That's, er, surreal...

The thing about this is, he was coming out with good points and he was speaking very powerfully and eloquently until he came to talk about the woman who died.

Almost immediately after bringing up the note he shrank, his points had less impact and he started umming and ahhing, as though he was fully aware of using the woman as prop was very selfish.

If he hadn't have brought her up I would have said good speech, but I agree halogamer, this is bad and I think Obama knew that.

To be honest, I'm wandering if his spin doctor put him up to it. I guess we don't know.

No he just read it off the teleprompter as he always does and always will do until Jan 2013 at least.  His entire presidency is scripted talking points.  That reminds me that today would have been the 99th bday of Reagan.  He would put Obummer to shame.

Considering Reagan was falling asleep towards the end of his term in cabinenet meetings... I'd hate to see what 99 year old reagan would be like...

plus... the alhzeimers or whatever he had.

All protestant and catholic(1!) presidents have been bad.

Oh, I just called all presidents of the USA bad. Silly me.

Electing a president is nothing more then voting for the cool guy.  Having a president... Doesn't work... Just look at Italy and France. Laughing stock of Europe. Let's add Greece and Spain to that list as well.

And don't comment on me saying that my country is the laughing stock of Europe. No one knows us.

To end my post with the famous words of Sarcozy...

Casse toi pauvre con.

Good luck getting re-elected(Sarcozy and Obama)

Not all US presidents were Protestants or Catholics.

A good number of them were deists.

Oh, and as for him not remembering the name of a Lady who's story he's using to prop up his agenda?

I'm just happy she's a real person and not made up.

So wait, it couldn't just be Democratic and Republican policies (since both parties hold influence in government)? How is what I said not logical at all?

Stop with the rhetoric, I've heard it a billion times before.

So I am responding to a guy who says "Conservative policies got us into this mess. The only 'ideas' they offer would either do nothing or make things worse." and you jump my ass?

whatever dude.

I tried to explain what I thought he might have been trying to say, you responded aggressively. I did the same.

Whatever dude.

Uhh... I worked on Obama's campaign but met him 2 years earlier. I don't really expect him to remember my name either... dude has a lot of names and faces to remember.

I knew this was coming.  If Obama can part the waters and change the world then he can surely remember names don't you think?  Ad-hocs and ad-naus arguments don't work with me...

I am sure her name was in the email. It's not like he had to remember some randome person from 2 years ago.

Damnit I was totally going to say that haha.  Beat me to it.

OT: well Obama is a politician... thank you for pointing it out haha.  Of course there are going to be moments like this.  Politicians are all about empty words and false hopes.  It's because of two things.  Either they don't have the ballz to do what is right and necessary or they simply do what the money thrown at them tell them to do.  Obama seems to be stuck in between.

Funny thing about this is, banter on politicians like this are kinda irrelevant.  I've never cared how they talk in front of people are what they say.  I start to care when they start to do stuff.  And for the most part, all I see politicians ever do is things to either help their rep with the people or their rep with corporations (the money thrown at them) or their party.  Either way nothing ever gets done that could actually benefit anyone.  I'd say we'd be better with anarchy, but I trust the masses even less than I trust the politiicans.  And of course I trust the private sector the least.  They'd sell us all out for oil haha.

Oh politics, for some odd reason we need you but for the life of me i swear you are the bane of our existence.

Maybe so.  I still think it is crap to use someone who just died in a stump.  I would never do it in any of my stumps (mainly I talk about leadership styles).

No Montana you repsonded correctly.  Conservative and Republican don't necessarily mean the same thing.  Mafoo just made a mistake in assuming you did think that meant the same thing, despite you saying in your post it didn't.  Kinda funny, but I guess it shows that people see what they want to see.  But after that Mafoo has just been straw manning your argument for no reason.

I do agree it is the government policies that got us into this (whether Dem or Repub) but you didn't choose a side just trying to distinguish between conservative and republican.  Misinterpretation on Mafoo's part who failed to notice it and then of course straw manned your argument after it.  You definitely have heard the rhetoric because he did try it on ya haha.
