Yeah, but you expect a bit more than that when asking for an explanation of the game... Now, what I don't understand is that people say it's more than graphics: it's the gameplay and story, but if it's that, why God of War Collection received such high scores? I mean, isn't it just remasterization, or something else, if I'm missing it? I can understand why Metroid Prime Trilogy received the same amount of score at Metacritic (although I'm not a fan of the series), but I can't for this collection...

The gameplay has aged pretty well actually. And the story is timeless. So a graphical boost just helped resell two great games to people who have never played the series.

I think that's a good explanation of why GOWC received high scores...

I think you got to consider :

- ME2
- Fallout : New Vegas
- Last Guardian
- Heavy Rain
- Zelda ( If it's coming )
- SMG 2
- Metroid : Other M
- Halo : Reach

And whatever else comes out later in the year. But it is sure a contender.



Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

As good as GOW3 looks, I don't think it even be the best game on the PS3 this year. The competition is gonna be huge this year: Heavy Rain, Gran turismo, Modnation, and The Last guardian are all gonna rock the PS3 this year.  Bayonetta and Mass Effect 2 stand a chance too.

 

It's gonna be a good year though!  :D

PS3 fanboys will think it is the best game ever made, 360 fanboys will think it is the worst thing to ever happen, Wii fanboys won't care, and all the GOTY will go to Heavy Rain or FF13 because they have the most cutscenes and game reviewers hate video games.



Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.

Seems unlikely considering the genre. It's not a genre that lends itself well to win "game of the year" vs other genres.

GOW is best compared with an action movies. No matter how good the action movie is... the year has to be very weak for it to get consideration.

Other genres tend to have a leg up in comparisons across genres with reviewers. The story won't help either. GOW stories are serviceable and great for what they are... but in the same way the Story of Die Hard is serviceable to draw a comparison back to action movies.
