Which oldschool Nintendo-franchise would you most like to see revived?

Frankly, the whole rumor got started just because Kid Icarus was in Brawl.  And as of yet, there's been no game made simply because a character appeared in Smash Bros.  There's been remakes of games (Fire Emblem) and games that were brought over to America after they were in Smash Bros (again Fire Emblem), but never a whole game made just because a character appeared in Smash Bros.  That's not how it works.  Characters are used in Smash Bros because they first apperared in other games.

The revival of Kid Icarus was not just the work of IGN.

 

"I was well aware that Pit was a popular character in both America and Japan. I tried as best I could to design this version of him in a way that reflected current tastes, so I'm happy to see him so well received.

The creator of Kid Icarus has even jokingly asked if he could make a spin-off using this Pit model (Masahiro Sakurai)."

My vote goes for Ice Climber but if they can make a 3D adventure Kid Icarus game (a conversion similar to Mario 2D>Mario 3D), I would be incredibly happy.

Although ive never owned a nintendo console and probably never will, i used to play Donkey Kong 2 diddys quest co-op when i was younger on my friends snes. To me that game brings back some of the best memories for me gamingwise and i still think the soundtrack to that game is by far the best ive ever heard. so although its not on the list this is the game i'd like nintendo to do again.

It's a tie between Kid Icuras and Ice Climber with me. But Kid Icarus is in the lead, so I choose Ice Climber, I bet there's no serious mountain-climb game out there ad they could be the first

Kid Icarus, which I only got to play when Melee came out. Plus it's a Mario+Zelda+Metroid game, the main thing I like about it!

There's a long way from 'jokingly asking' if you could make a spin-off game and actually going through with it.  That's pretty much 100% rumor material right there, and is still tied to everything I was talking about.  The fact that Kid Icarus was in Brawl made more people wish that Kid Icarus would come back (in a state like we saw in Brawl).  And the vast majority of fuel keeping this rumor going is the hope that a new Kid Icarus will be made utilizing designs like that of Kid Icarus in Brawl.  But that's just it, hope and rumors like that on IGN are far from solid facts.  And after 2 years, there hasn't been a single announcement from Nintendo themselves that they are working on a game, nor solid evidence that anyone else is (aside from 'rumors' of Factor 5 'maybe' working on it from places like IGN).  Yet more and more people keep pushing the rumor around and even claiming that it is or MUST be in the works.

Hoping is fine and all, but these rumors have gotten to the point where some people even treat those rumors as facts.  And IGN even did that at one point.

Not really, there are also interviews where IGN asked Miyamoto about the development of a kid Icarus title and he stated that he was not involved with the title and that there were some Ideas being tossed around about the game. Therefore it's not all internet speculation.

Kid Icarus would be totally tits.

IGN and others really got our hopes up for this.. it sounded like Nintendo were working on something Twilight Princess-esque but it looks like it was all one big lie.

Disappointing.
